Ray Truitt CD Release Party (March 14th)

The Arc Mercer Music Program is proud to present Ray Truitt LIVE in Concert on Friday, March 14th at 1PM at our Adult Resource Center located at 801 New York Ave. in Ewing, NJ 08638. Through the 2nd half of 2013, Ray showed increased interest in recording vocals for his own CD. So, we made his idea to come to life starting on October 16th, 2013. Long story short is that every Tuesday, with the exceptions of holidays or program closings due to inclement weather, Ray came for a 30 minute vocal session to sing a song of his choosing. Just last Thursday, January 23rd, 2014, he finished recording his 11th song. Aptly named, 'My Favorite Hits: Volume 1', Ray's first studio CD will be released on March 14th as part of the CD Release Party. Here, he will not only sing 5 of the songs off of this album for your listening pleasure, but sign and hand out 25 copies for anyone interested.

The greatest part about this whole process was overall vision of completing the album; that he stuck with something he set his mind to, was determined to finish in a timely manner, and made every decision along the way. From choosing the songs to what vocal take he liked best to what picture he wanted for the front cover to the order of songs on the back cover to a live music video, to what picture he wanted as a flier, all decisions where chosen by him and close friend, Charles Craddock. It was inspiring to witness magic in the making as Ray weaved his way through these 11 songs, showing us that we can live our dreams.

So, without further ado, be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, March 14th at 1PM to head on over to the Adult Resource Center (801 New York Ave.in Ewing, NJ 08638) to be inspired by our very own, Ray Truitt.

We look forward to seeing you there in support of Ray sharing his musical gift with the world and truly living his dream!

Arc Mercer - A Family of Special Needs

"We all have special needs."

At The Arc Mercer, we are a family that cares for those with special needs.

Our Mission.

We work very hard to provide individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to choose and achieve their goals, to care for the individual and to include his or her family in the process.

We Offer Much (Please click links for additional information):

Our Story

In 1950, a group of 12 parents met in a Trenton, New Jersey home to talk about a common concern, which was how they could provide their children with developmental disabilities with a quality education, enjoyable recreational activities, and a well-rounded social life. In other words, the basic things all parents want for their children.
But these parents also wanted something else—they needed a way to support and empower themselves and their children as they faced the special challenges of raising a child with a developmental disability. As a result, they banded together and began what would become The Arc Mercer.
From its humble beginnings involving a living room meeting, The Arc Mercer has grown to serve more than 1,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities through a myriad of programs and services that empower them through opportunities for personal development, job training, fun and recreation, and independent living. Specific programs offered by The Arc Mercer include:

  • Developmental Daycare
  • Infant and Toddler Services
  • Employment Services
  • Residential Services
  • Recreational Services
  • Respite Services
  • Adult Day Services
  • Vocational/Rehabilitation Services
  • Advocacy

The Arc Mercer’s growth is continual, with the addition of new programs, services, and buildings. It’s clear that The Arc Mercer is on the move. While we are committed to keeping pace with our times in all ways possible, we continue to hold fast to the basic principles on which this organization was founded many years ago. Every change and addition to our programs and services is done with one objective in mind: to empower our consumers’ lives with opportunity. It’s what we’re all about.
